January 24, 2025 – Playhouse 2000 presents the fourth show in the 2024-25 Cailloux Performances Series, Always Loretta, on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 7:30 pm in the Cailloux Theater.
Like today’s Taylor Swift, Loretta Lynn was the best loved “girl singer” of her era of Country music. For many, she’s still an all-time favorite. While on tour, she was always backed up by “The Coal Miners,” a band made up of some of the best players in the Country music world.
Emily Portman earned the honor of portraying Loretta in the Conway Twitty touring musical It’s Only Make Believe and toured with that show for years, Including performances at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium with the Grand Ole Opry. Ultimately, Emily and the star became close friends.
After Ms. Lynn passed away, Emily was invited by The Coalminers to collaborate on this show honoring the memory and music of a true country music trail blazer.
Always Loretta is the only tribute show authorized by the Loretta Lynn family, and it includes both her greatest hits and intimate stories of her life through the eyes of those who knew her best.
You’ll hear all the hits from Loretta’s legendary career, plus other fan favorites that only occasionally made it into the normal tour song list. The show also features a section called “Get To Know Loretta” where band members take questions from the audience and tell stories about life on the road.
The ninety-plus minute show is not to be forgotten! It is a wonderfully unique evening of music and memories honoring Loretta and her legendary career.
