February 7-23, 2025 – Playhouse NOW! presents Bombshells, February 7-23, 2025, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays, February 16 and 23 at 2:30 pm in the VK garage Theater.
Playhouse NOW! takes on classic Hollywood with this brand-new look at the “Screwball Comedy,” where fast-paced action, fantastic situations, and romantic entanglements mix with nine clever characters to create a laugh-out-loud evening of theater.
In this world-premiere play set at the end of the second World War, a group of adventurous ladies meets up with a squad of war-time specialists looking for a fling in the midst of a blacked-out London. Their ardent intentions are thwarted by a glory-seeking commander, a potential enemy spy, and a general lack of amorous experience.
“Mitch” Mitchell has starred in many Playhouse 2000 productions, and in recent years has developed into an accomplished playwright. We’ve presented several of his original scripts as readings and workshops, and last year his play The Mountain King was a finalist in the AACT National Playwriting Competition. We’re excited to offer the very first performances Bombshells to our audience.
