VINTAGE RADIO EXPLORATION
Dates: Week 1 – Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21; Week 2 – Monday, June 21 through Friday, June 28 (participants may sign up for one week or for both weeks)
Time: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Cost: $120 per week ($240 for both weeks)
Workshop Description: Theatre students will dive into the unique and quirky world of old-time radio theatre, utilizing actual archival radio scripts for two well-known radio series: The Whistler and My Friend Irma (one for each week of the workshop). Rewrites will be done in class according to casting needs. This will include cutting the scripts, adapting them, casting the parts, adding jingles, commercials, and learning foley (sound effects). The final class for each week will be a small presentation of our final work as a radio company of actors.
