We are all very excited to be rehearsing for the opening of Lerner and Loewe’s beautiful musical Brigadoon on April 5.
The cast includes River Wellborn as “Fiona MacLaren;” Robert Gonzalez as “Tommy Albright;” Brandon Cunningham as “Jeff Douglas;” Brad Gilbert as “Harry Beaton;” Brian Daves as “Archie Beaton;” Judd Vermillion as “Andrew MacLaren;” Margaret Dudley as “Jean MacLaren;” Xander Thompson as “Charlie Dalrymple;” Donald Kearney as “Stuart Dalrymple;” Meg Ellisor-Traverso as “Meg Brockie;” Jeff Cunningham as “Mr. Lundie;” Leighton Sterling as “Maggie MacMillan;” David Cummings as “Ian MacGregor;” Kim Keller as “Kate;” Channing Bloom as “Frank;” Dancers Frankleigh Guerrero, MacKenzie Morton, and Sabrina Rivera; and ensemble members Anne Barnhart, Joeliegh Guerrero, Rebekah Remlinger, Denise Ronk, and Cindy Vennes.
Brigadoon was a huge hit on Broadway in the late 1940’s, running for more than 18 months in the Ziegfeld Theater in New York, and then two years in London. It was also made into an award-winning movie featuring Gene Kelley, Van Johnson, and Cyd Charisse.
The story is about a mysterious village in the Scottish Highlands that only appears for one day each 100 years, and the American tourist who stumbles upon it and falls in love with one of the villagers. It’s a glorious tale of romance overcoming cynicism, with one of the most beautiful scores in Broadway’s catalog performed by a talented cast and a full, professional orchestra.
Brigadoon, will be presented in The Cailloux Theater April 5 through 21. Tickets and even full-year subscriptions are available now at The Cailloux Box Office. Click HERE or call (830) 896-9393. |
