We’re happily hard at work preparing the next show in P2K’s Season 2021, the beautiful, historical story by Lauren Gunderson, Silent Sky.
The excellent cast and crew have just a few more weeks of preparation before the show opens on April 9th.
We’re making room for you in the VK Garage Theater, where seating will be limited to about 40 guests to allow for Social Distance seating. Face coverings are urged for all who attend.
(From Left) Tasha Remschel as “Henrietta Leavitt,” Jessica Sturm as “Williamina Fleming,” and Heather Cunningham as “Annie Cannon” rehearse (safely).
Marcus Goodyear as “Peter Shaw,” and Amy Goodyear as “Margaret Leavitt”
rehearse a scene from Act II with Tasha Remschel.
Silent Sky tells the historically-based story of Henrietta Leavitt, among the very first women to work in the fabled Harvard Observatory, whose contributions to Astronomy were vital to our modern understanding of the universe.
With an unflagging focus on increasing her knowledge of the world around her, Henrietta faces the societal pressures placed on women in the first years of the 20th Century and the anti-female bias that permeated the scientific community of the day, and gives us an uplifting evening of theater you won’t soon forget.
