The re-start of Season 2020 was undertaken when it seemed that the Covid-19 health crisis was on the way to being controlled. I am no longer confident that is the case, and I think we need to change course accordingly.
We all deeply appreciate the remarkable displays of dedication, commitment, and camaraderie shown in the productions of King Lear and The Outsider. We are deeply indebted to the casts and crews of those shows, but also very fortunate that no one in either group appears to have suffered any ill health.
Because it’s difficult to promise that we can provide a safe environment to a new cast, or to the audience that will be asked to attend, I feel that we should not begin a new process of production until we believe that we can do that.
We will not hold auditions for “Silent Sky” as scheduled, and will move this title to Season 2021, as we have with “Little Shop” and “Orient Express.”
If the situation allows it, we may replace “Silent Sky” with another product that can be presented safely and economically under the current conditions. If that comes about, we’ll make sure that you are the first to know.
We will reach out soon to Subscribers and Single Ticket buyers for this show with change and/or refund options. We appreciate your patience.
Thank you for all you do to make Playhouse 2000 and The Kathleen C. Cailloux City Center for the Performing Arts a successful part of our Hill Country community. We look forward to being back soon, putting our friends and neighbors on stage for the enjoyment of all.
